What exactly does Boozen do?
You take a photo of a building, landmark, or any place — Boozen uses AI vision to identify the geographic place (city, region, country) and the building or structure, and saves the result to your personal archive.
Why do I need an account?
Your archive needs to live somewhere. An account (via email, Apple, or Google sign-in) lets us attach your discoveries to you so you can access them across sessions. Accounts are free.
Does Boozen work without the internet?
Photo recognition requires the internet because analysis happens on our secure backend using AI. Browsing your already-scanned archive works as long as the app can reach the server.
How accurate is the place recognition?
Very good for recognizable landmarks and buildings. Less famous places benefit a lot from enabling location access — it gives the AI the regional context it needs to pick the right answer.
Do I have to share my location?
No. Location is optional. If you grant it, results are more reliable — especially for ordinary buildings. You can revoke the permission at any time in iOS Settings without losing access to the rest of the app.
Why does the app ask for camera and photos access?
Camera access lets you take a fresh shot of a place directly inside the app. Photo library access lets you pick an existing photo from your gallery. Both are only used when you trigger a scan.
What is the Face ID / biometrics option for?
You can optionally lock the app with Face ID or Touch ID so your archive is protected when someone else uses your phone. Biometric data never leaves your device.
How do I delete an item from my archive?
Open the item from the archive list — you'll find a remove action there. Deleted entries are removed from our storage.
How do I delete my account entirely?
Send an email to eugene1kluiuev@gmail.com from the email associated with your account and ask for account deletion. We'll confirm and remove your account and archive data.
Does Boozen use my photos to train AI?
No. Photos you submit are processed to return a result and saved in your private archive. They are not used to train public models and are not shared with other users. See our privacy page for the full breakdown.
How do I change the app language?
Open Settings inside the app and choose between English, Spanish, Hindi, Russian, and Chinese.
